Originally from Chicagoland, I attended the University of Indianapolis where I graduated with a degree in radio (basically). I then moved to Southern Illinois for a hot minute and Greenville, South Carolina for a hotter minute before landing in Joplin.
When I’m not talking into a microphone, I’m living a life of sadness as a White Sox, Bears, and Gamecocks fan. Wine on the patio helps ease that pain. My spare time is spent literally chasing a toddler, Netflix binging with the husband, and trying new recipes with Long Cool Woman on repeat.
A CONVERSATION WITH Jenn Wilson
Who is your all-time favorite band or musician? Adele. I put 21 in my CD player in 2011 and haven’t taken it out since. (To be honest, 21 – and everything else I listen to – is also on my phone, but that doesn’t sound nearly as dramatic.)
What are your three of your favorite songs ever? The Hollies’ Long Cool Woman, Simple Minds’ Don’t You (Forget About Me), and Better Than Ezra’s Good
If you were given $100,000 and told that you had to spend it all in one day and it had to be for YOU, what would you spend it on? A house cleaning service paid in advance for however long $100,000 will get me.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have access to one food and one beverage, what would they be? Lasagna and red wine. I’m like a classy Garfield.
What modern device can you not live with out? My iPhone. I have EVERYTHING on there – pictures of Boogs, my grocery list, the measurements of the windows in my house in case I ever decide to actually buy curtains instead of just talking about it. I would cry very real tears if I lost that thing.
